Marilyn Leola Brown was born in Ontario, Canada. She currently is living in Udora, Ontario. She grew up on the farm and loves nature and animals. Mother Nature has inspired many landscape paintings. In her youth Marilyn did not realize that she would one day become an artist. She started painting when she attending Seneca College. Studying drafting and design made Marilyn realize that she really enjoyed drawing and painting buildings. Buildings have always been her main focus. The architecture was what made it interesting. Now she is trying new subjects and new techniques. Her skills where developed doing oil painting with Hessel Pape and watercolour painting with Helen McKenna. She also studied with the Art Instruction School in Minneapolis, MN. She greatly enjoys doing pen and ink paintings developing the ability to do large size pen and ink which are rarely done by other artists. Marilyn has done paintings for private and commercial clients.
Commission paintings are very enjoyable work. Marilyn has done many special paintings for people who want a painting that is personalized to their lives. Marilyn has the ability to adjust things that her clients might want changed about their homes. She can remove trees that you don’t like or fix the siding on your house. She has been ask to move doors from one side of the building to the other. Some of her work is being used to advertise web-sites for business. Paintings are done well when people want to put themselves in the picture, they say, “I can see myself sitting right there beside the river or standing right at the door.”
Marilyn has been showing her work at some of the local art shows like The Purple Turtle, at the Briars Resort in Sutton, Ontario and the Uxbridge Art in the Park Uxbridge, ON. New this year she will be in Georgina Studio Tour and now at the Markham Home For The Holidays show.
